The “Felucca odyssey and Rea Sea” tour begins and concludes in Cairo. It is a 12 day local cultural tour that takes you through Dahab (known for its world class diving and snorkelling), Nile Felucca and Cairo. This is a guided group tour that includes accommodation, transportation and meals.

Welcome to Egypt! Look for the Balkan Breeze Tours sign at the Cairo airport to arrange your transfer to the hotel. Prepare to gather in the lobby around 6:00pm for an informal meeting with your guide and other tour attendees. After that, you’ll have free time to explore bustling Cairo or join a boat for an optional group supper.
Set your alarm for 7.30 a.m. and eat a hearty meal before embarking on a day of touring Egypt’s renowned Ancient Wonders of the World, the Pyramids, and the Sphinx. Follow your guide on a tour of the ancient site to learn about the 4,600-year-old marvels. After everyone has had their dose of awe, we’ll head out to Sakkara to see the iconic step pyramid built in 2700. Later in the afternoon; take the overnight sleeper train to Aswan.
When you wake up in Aswan, you’re prepared to go on a city tour with your guide. Discover the amazing construction techniques utilized to erect the iconic four-sided monuments seen at the gateways to Egyptian temples by visiting the Unfinished Obelisk. Spend some time strolling down the 42-meter-long stone bed and listening to your guide explains its importance. See the Philae Temple, which honors the goddess Isis, the pharaohs’ heavenly mother. Beautifully situated on an island in the middle of the Nile is the temple. After that, at 5:30 p.m., we will check into the hotel. Later in the evening, we can choose to attend a traditional Nubian supper.

Time to wave farewell to our magnificent felucca as we jump back onto the coach and head north towards Kom Ombo. See the Kom Ombo Temple, which honors the deity of crocodiles, Sobek. Our next destination is Edfu, which has one of Egypt’s biggest and best-preserved temple complexes. Built over 180 years, from 237 BC to 57 BC, the temple was devoted to the falcon deity Horus. After traveling to Luxor in the late afternoon, we will spend the evening exploring the Luxor Temple. Discover the 14th-century history of the temple complex with your guide as you explore the dimly lit temple after dark.
Your destination is the west bank of the Nile River! To see elaborate royal tombs cut into desert rocks and brimming with riches for the Pharaoh’s afterlife, follow your guide to the Valley of the Kings, also called the “City of the Dead.”The Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon are the next stops. Don’t forget to take in the magnificent temples of the expansive Karnak Temple Complex, one of the most significant religious hubs in ancient Egypt. The most fascinating legends and anecdotes from the temple complex will be shared with you by your Egyptologist guide. Do you have an adventurous spirit? Enjoy a hot-air balloon flight above Luxor, which is an optional activity. Travel to Cairo on an overnight sleeper train in the evening.
The trip continues at the Egyptian Museum of Cairo, one of the most significant museums devoted to antiquity. This location, which is home to over 120,000 antiques and remnants from ancient Egypt, will astound you! After that, explore Cairo, including stops at the renowned Khan al-Khalil market and the Citadel of Saladin. Put on your caps for haggling and get ready for the chaos!
After a leisurely breakfast, depart for Dahab, the paradise on the Red Sea. Prepare for a seaside plunge by keeping your swimwear handy at hand. There will be lots of opportunity for diving, snorkeling, swimming, and tanning. Ideal for winding down following a week of exploring different cultures.
We begin our trip to Dahab today with the chance to go snorkeling at the well-known Blue Hole. Here, you may swim with vibrant fish, go snorkeling off the coast, and take in the stunning coral reefs. Dahab is well known for being among the top diving locations in the area, providing divers of all skill levels with an amazing experience. Leave in the evening for St. Catherine.
